The Patient Visit Summary (PVS) is a plain-language summary of the visit generated alongside your clinical note. It is written at an 8th-grade reading level and is designed to be shared directly with your patient as an after-visit summary.
How to view and share the Patient Visit Summary
- Open the note in the web editor at notes.abridge.com.
- Select the Patient Summary (PVS) button toward the top of the note editor.
- Review and edit the summary as needed — you can edit it like any text document.
- When finished, copy and paste the summary to share with your patient.
Important note
The Patient Visit Summary is not sent to Epic automatically when you select Send Note. You must copy and paste it manually to transfer the content. For more on sending your clinical note to Epic, see Send an Abridge note into Epic.
