Pediatric Well Visit note type not generating

The Pediatric Well Visit note type is not appearing for visits where it would be expected. Use the steps below to identify and resolve the cause.

Issue

The Pediatric Well Visit note type is not generating, either inconsistently or not at all, for eligible preventive care visits with patients 18 and under.

Steps to resolve

Note type appears only sometimes

Abridge may not be receiving enough information about the patient or visit context to reliably trigger the note type.

1. At the start of the visit, verbalize the patient's age.
2. State the reason for visit explicitly — for example: "This is a 6-year-old here for a well visit."

Note type never appears

Your specialty may not be correctly logged in Abridge or the EHR.

1. Open Abridge Settings and confirm your specialty is listed as Pediatrics, Family Medicine, or Med-Peds.
2. Verify your specialty information in your EHR profile.
3. If the note type still does not appear after confirming an eligible specialty, contact Abridge support at help@abridge.com.

Additional notes

Pediatric subspecialties — such as Pediatric Cardiology or Pediatric Endocrinology — are not eligible for the Pediatric Well Visit note type and will not trigger it regardless of patient age or visit context.
